IMG Reliance ties up with BFI to create professional Basketball league
The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) has joined hands with IMG Reliance, a joint venture between IMG Worldwide and Reliance Industries, to develop the sport in the country from the grassroots up to the professional level. The tie-up will include developing sporting talent nationally, introducing national league basketball at school and college levels and creating a professional Basketball league in the country.
As part of the agreement, the BFI has granted IMG Reliance commercial rights relating to basketball in India including sponsorship, advertising, broadcasting, merchandising, film, video and data, intellectual property, franchising and new league rights.

ISES Eventworld 2010 to be held from August 5-7
The International Special Events Society will host its annual professional development programme - ISES Eventworld, from August 5-7, 2010, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. The event is known as the premier continuing education event for the special events industry.
The International Special Events Society comprises of over 4,000 professionals in over 35 countries representing special event producers (from festivals to trade shows), vendors, destination management companies, rental companies, special effects experts, hotel sales managers, specialty entertainers, convention center managers and many more.
Eventworld includes education programs conducted by leading industry speakers. The event provides an international perspective on pertinent issues faced by the industry. It will also include ISES' industry recognition platform - The ISES Esprit Awards Celebration. The event will include networking sessions through the days of the programme.

Cloud 9 to re-launch with a focus on live events
Goldwin Healthcare, parent company of energy drink brand Cloud 9, has appointed ThirstyFish Marketing to handle their entire marketing and communication duties. Goldwin HealthCare is poised to revamp and re-launch all of its products in India in the coming months.
Reasoning the appointment, Priyesh Ganatra, MD, Cloud 9 said, "We were looking at a fresh approach to our strategies and were inclined to partner with ThirstyFish as they are a young company and dynamic in their approach. They understand the business, our target audience and more importantly they understand us."
The media strategy for this project will have a national focus while the business will be handled out of the agency's Mumbai office. Shadab Samad, MD, ThirstyFish Marketing added, "In the first phase of our media and communication strategy, we will focus on cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Goa and Bengaluru through multimedia campaigns. We will also be executing various on-ground consumer contact programs and sports events as part of our BTL initiatives
